- Performs a variety of cleaning and housekeeping tasks in assigned area(s).
- Maintains assigned areas(s) in a clean, orderly and attractive condition.
- Responsible for conducting a scheduled and on-going floor care maintenance program.
- Damp mops all floors daily using two stage procedures.
- Coordinates scheduled buffing and restoration of hard flooring, maintaining a high gloss appearance.
- Removes splatter and stains resulting from floor refinishing, leaving mop boards and lower parts of wall free of cleaning debris.
- Maintains carpeted surfaces free of litter and thoroughly vacuumed a minimum of one time per shift, utilizing appropriate carpet cleaning procedures.
- Sets up and breaks down meeting rooms.
- Transports supplies and equipment between storage areas and work areas.
- Utilizes floor machines, vacuum cleaners, ladders and other related cleaning equipment in the course of work. Cleans and provides routine maintenance for all equipment at the end of shift.
- Washes floors, walls, woodwork, and windows.
- Checks and cleans glass doors and railings daily.
- Schedules and documents cleaning of the large windows of first and second floor levels.
- Cleans and polishes stainless steel components and walls/doors of elevators.
- Assures that ventilation fans are maintained free of dust.
- Utilizes approved chemicals, disinfectants, and detergents.
- Collects and returns soiled linen to laundry pick-up points.
- Delivers assorted waste products to appropriate areas.
- Picks up and returns dishes, glassware, magazines and other misplaced items to appropriate departments and/or locations.
- Safely handles full needle and sharps dispensers and isolation waste.
- Supports Hospital-wide recycling program, organizing the storage and disposition of recyclable materials and goods.
- Responds appropriately and in a timely manner to quality reviews.
- Completes and documents all scheduled and project cleaning assignments.
- May clean, disinfect, and restore patient discharge units or exam/clinic rooms in accordance with appropriate cleaning/disinfection health and safety standards.
- Observes and reports unsafe conditions and maintenance needs.
- Observes appropriate standard precaution guidelines.
