Location: Lancaster, NH and outreach locations

Role: Pain Management Nurse Practitioner

Job Description:

 

We are seeking an experienced, full-time Pain Management Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our dynamic team at WMC and outreach sites. This role provides compassionate, evidence-based care to adult patients with acute and chronic pain, with a focus on medication management, helping to meet growing demand for services across our North Country locations. 

 

Duties:

  • Provide office-based evaluation, diagnosis, and management of pain conditions for new and established adult patients
  • Manage medications, including controlled substances, following best practices for safety and compliance (PDMP, urine drug screens)
  • Perform minor pain procedures (e.g., trigger point injections, joint injections, occipital nerve blocks, cold ablation, Botox for migraines)
  • Refer patients to CRNA colleagues for interventional procedures (e.g., epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation)
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding pain management plans
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including CRNAs, physicians, and allied health professionals
  • Document care in Meditech Expanse EMR system
  • Participate in shared call rotation (phone only, no in-hospital call; ~1 week every 4 weeks once fully onboarded)
  • May provide occasional inpatient or emergency department consults

Essential Qualifications:

  • Board certified by NCH Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • ACLS and BLS from the American Heart Association required.
  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner (APRN) in New Hampshire (or eligible)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in pain management
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and collaborative skills
  • Commitment to a compassionate, nonjudgmental, whole-person approach to pain care
  • X-waiver for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) preferred but not required
